Mixed Colors

From solo cello to mixed chamber ensembles, the composer brings together nine previously unreleased tracks that, like a prism, reflect a multiplicity of textures and timbres.

MIXED COLORS presents five works named after colors (Purple, Ochre, Rose, Olive and Chromium), written for quintets and a sextet that combine strings, woodwinds, brass, piano and vibraphone. SUDDEN AMUSEMENT completes the album with four pieces: three movements for vibraphone, bassoon and cello and one movement for solo cello.

Across both series, the listener is invited to listen, reflect and re-examine: with each new hearing, the same theme takes on a different instrumental color.

Members of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) take part in the album: Sérgio Burgani and Ovanir Buosi (clarinet), Ricardo Barbosa (oboe), Romeu Rabello (bassoon), Ney Vasconcelos (double bass), Nicolay Genov (horn), Ruben Zuniga and Tiago Lamattina (percussion) and Marialbi Trisolio (cello). They are joined by oboist Alexandre Ficarelli, professor at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP); vibraphonist Renato Raul, of the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo (São Paulo Municipal Theatre); and violinist Ricardo Takahashi, of the University of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSUSP). From the OSESP Academy, double bassist Gabriela Negri and pianist Ariã Yamanaka take part. Rounding out the line-up are Gustavo Fontes, double bassist and professor at the São Paulo State School of Music (EMESP) and the São Paulo Municipal School of Music, pianist Luiza Salles and trumpeter Anderson Chiquinho.
