An anthology dedicated to the string repertoire, bringing together works written for duos, trios, quartets, and chamber orchestras, performed by artists from the label’s catalog.
Curated by composer and instrumentalist Corciolli, founder of the record company, the selection offers an excellent introduction to the plurality of languages, styles and approaches found across the label’s catalog. AZUL CLASSICS: STRINGS is the first volume in a series of albums dedicated to an instrument or ensemble, seeking to trace a sensitive and contemporary panorama of chamber music in Brazil and the world.
Highlights include “Suite for String Orchestra: III. Aria” by Radamés Gnattali, performed by the São Paulo Chambers Soloists, from the album RADAMÉS, nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2025; and “Elegy No. 4”, an unreleased piece by Brazilian composer João Marcondes, performed by the Topázio Quartet, formed by musicians from the OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra).
